Port Augusta- rest and recovery for Bessy

We stayed in Port Augusta to get the car serviced and took Bessy over to Whyalla to have her surgery

We could not have been more pleased with the professional and friendly service provided by the team at the vet clinic. Dr Mustafa Boskurt explained everything, gave options and advised us of expected costs. Bessy has had an excellent outcome. She was weight bearing within 4 days post opp and continues to improve daily. Sutures out tomorrow

Quorn day trip

We took a day trip into the flinders rangers to give Bessy and her new ACL a test run before setting off to Canberra. A short drive into the town of Quorn, a bit of exploring and we finished with cheesecake and scones with quandong jam

Berri – Riverland Country and home of the mighty Murray

2508kms of spectacular river, bridges and ferry crossings. The level of the Murray is much higher than when we visited 10 years ago. Just as beautiful and well worth revisiting. We camped at Martins Bend Reserve – a great spot on the river. Very tranquil and just the spot for some slow walks for Bessy.

The Murray

If you look closely you can see the line on the trees marking the water level from floods earlier in the year.

We are now traveling towards Canberra so we can visit with our son Greg and his partner Maria. We have never been to Canberra before so are looking forward to seeing Greg and Maria as well as the sights of our capital.
