Bound for Home

Well the time has come for us to head home. There will be more travel, if only short trips for awhile, but be assured there will definitely be more longer trips on the horizon.

Now that we have Peter all sorted, we will be heading home with vpap machine in tow. It’s a bit like sleeping with Darth Vaders little brother, but with his sleep apnea all sorted Peter is like a new man. Because we have not been able to book in advance, and there is only one Tasmania Spirit ship sailing at present, we have had to arrange to cross the ditch on a Toll freight ship. A little more expensive, and I am sure no gift shop!!

I have taken a new position in Mackay staring on 25 May so we need to get back home pretty soon – but we will be doing a bit of sight seeing on the way. I will be working at a new facility in Mackay (Kerrisdale Gardens) so that well be pretty exciting, but no where near as exciting as seeing all our family and friends again.

Both of us have really enjoyed our stay in Wynyard but another wet, cold winter is not an option. Can someone up home arrange a nice warm, dry winter for us. I am going to really miss all the great people I have been working with for the past twelve months, but it’s time to head home and be part of the real world again – for a while anyway.

Bessy is going to have to learn to be a Queenslander, and I am sure she will miss her daily walks on the beach at Wynyard, although I think she will find the water a tad warmer up north. The temps down here are already starting to get a bit chilly at night.

A not so warm winter’s night

I will be taking lots of pics on the way home, and make regular posts to make up for being so slack of late.

  1. Hi Pete and Cheryl, I will look forward to seeing you both next time I am in Mackay. Glad Pete is feeling better. A Queensland winter will seem so mild to you guys now! Safe travels, love Ab xx
