Heat waves, bush fires and all manner of strange weather

Well we have been in Mackay for five weeks now – definitely time to hit the road again, but what is it with the weird weather in SA and NSW. We are a bit reluctant to head off into it at present.

Sooooo – we are staying for an extra week and taking the opportunity to get Bessy de-sexed. Poor Bessy, but better a vet we know and trust.

We spent the first three weeks house sitting for friends. When they returned we moved all the way next door to another friends place. The difference being poor Sue is at home and having to put up with us and the crazy dog.

It have been wonderful to catch up with family and friends and spending some time with Robyn’s parents. Queensland certainly turned on the heat for them, but I think they missed the worst. They are now back in Canada braving the sub-zero temperatures.

Life’s a beach

Both Peter and I have been working, but not to much and are really looking forward to going to Tasmania when we get going again. Hopefully then I will have something a bit more exciting to post and some great pics.

We got to see great storm over Brisbane when staying with Doug and Julie

  1. Hi there! It was great to finally meet you guys, thanks for the hospitality. We’re home again and it’s not too cold – hovering about -2 to + 5 thru the day. We miss the sun and heat and we did get used to not working so it’s tough to go back to the 8 – 5 routine. Hope the wacky weather settles down soon. Lynn and John

    • Hey Lynn and John – sorry to hear you are back at work. Peter and I finish this week and then back to travel so we will continue the holiday spirit for you!
