Daly Waters Pub – where the bloody hell is Daly Waters??

On our way to Mataranka we stopped at a pub called Daly Waters. It is in the middle on nowhere. 660 km south of Darwin and 900 km north of Alice Springs, about 3km off the Stuart Highway,

We called in for brunch only because someone told us about the place. Apparently it was originally a Drover’s store set up in 1930 by Bill Pearce. It was the last water hole before the Murranji stock route and a stop for the pony express.

Today there is just the pub, some cabins and a camp ground – nothing else. I will let the photos speak for themselves. If you are thinking of a visit for an afternoon session it is a “bit” of a drive, but do keep in mind they have live entertainment every night during the dry session, so it could be worth the trip.IMG_1534 IMG_1535 IMG_1536 IMG_1537 IMG_1538 IMG_1539 IMG_1540 IMG_1541 IMG_1542 IMG_1543 IMG_1544 IMG_1545 IMG_1546 IMG_1548 IMG_1549 IMG_1550 IMG_1551 IMG_1552 IMG_1553 IMG_1554 IMG_1555 IMG_1556
