After a long, cold drive we based ourselves at Orange for a look around the area. Once again it proved to be cold and wet with a snow warning the first night we were there.
A day trip to Bathurst with a lap of the famous track and a visit the motor museum. Needless to say the track record remains safe.

We also spent some time driving around the Bathurst area and visited Abercrombie House

Abercrombie House
A very interesting heritage listed country home owned by the Morgan family. It is open to public and functions AND the family also live in the home and undertake a large amount of restorations themselves. I spent a considerable amount of the afternoon sitting in the lounge room in front of the fire talking with the lady of the house. One of the things I asked was how “weird “ it was to have people roaming around the house that you lived in. The answer – it helps pay for restoration and we get to chat to interesting people like you – obviously well versed in dealing with the public!!
