We arrived in Albany to rather wet and windy conditions but determined to make the best of it set about exploring the area. The cold was not to bad as we were at a caravan park so longer hot showers and reverse cycles AC were on the menu.
A visit to the whaling station on Frenchman Bay was enlightening and quite sad. We did not realize they were still killing whales into the late eighties. The station is intact as it was when still processing. Part of the display shows news footage of tourist at the station in the 70’s actually taking family photos in front of whales being butchered. Quite bizarre and a lot disturbing.

Frenchman Bay
The bay and King George Sound had plenty of great sights on offer

Best Beaches
Lots of great beaches but one of my favorites was Little Beach on Two Peoples Bay – although in our case two dogs as well. Had a lovely lunch there with beach all to ourselves.

Heading to Esperance next vis Wave Rock and a few other stops.
