Touted as the seafood capital of the world, and boasting the largest natural harbour in Australia, Boston Bay.
Anyway Port Lincoln is a lovely place, good seafood, friendly people and a lot bigger than I expected. Incredibly busy over the weekend, I have never seen so many caravans driving around in one town. A cruise ship was also docked- so people everywhere.

Coffin Bay – Oyster HQ
We took a day trip to Coffin bay hoping to buy a few dozen oysters direct from the farmer. No to be as none of the local oyster farms sell direct to public. We did buy oysters from a store called Oyster HQ, they were Coffin bay oysters but they said they source them from whichever oyster farm they can get them fresh.
Lovely little place. We would have liked to stay but alas no caravan or camp sites available so that is why we just took a day trip.

Getting a bit cooler now – almost like a mild Mackay winter
After leaving Port Lincoln we headed to Ceduna with an overnight stop at Wudinna Showgrounds. A great camp spot with nice little town and very friendly locals. If you are heading across this way another great spot is the very small town of Wirrulla where the Lions club has a small caravan “park”. Lovely flat sites across from pub in amongst bush land with both power and water for $15 a night. You pay and get the key to ammenities block from the store/post office/fuel station it also has a shed with table and chairs and a camp kitchen that can be use by day trippers as well.
