North West Coast – Tasmania

Well today we finally got over to the North West coast.

After setting off early we set off for a drive through the forest to Dip Falls through the small village of Marbanna. On the way back we came through Forrest.

Some big tress down there

After climbing down the ravine (no mean feat for someone scared of heights) and taking a few pics we headed over to the coast and stopped at Green Point beach for a while before heading down to Arthur River. Anyone thinking of going over that way with your Van, there is a great free camp on the beach.

Arthur River is fairly remote and the coast gets pretty wild over that way. Today was very tame, little wind and and apparently no swell. We have seen weather report where the swells get up to 6-7 meters – not a bar crossing for the  feint hearted.

After a long, but fun day we set back for Wynyard, getting home quite late – not to fear it is not getting dark down here until around 8.30PM now.

On a family note – the Moe Bros still have a bit of work to do.
