Wild and Windy

Well it has been an interesting week down here in Tasmania.

Firstly Peter started work at Bunnings. He looked so sweet going off in his bright red T- Shirt, but refused to let me take a pic for the post, what a spoiled sport.

Secondly the entire state has been lashed by gales, storms and floods since Monday, with cold fronts moving acroos straight from the pole, and lets face it, there really is not much down here to stop it. Snow is expected down to 200mtrs over the next few days (from what I have seen that would have to be about 90% of the state).

Our son David is currently on a fishing trip up in the Gulf – maybe we should be up there with him!!!

David in the heat and dust – now that would be nice

They say Tassie is a bit behind the times – could be true

A few tips to the unsuspecting traveler

1. Don’t go to Darwin during the build up to the Monsoon season

2. Don’t go to South Australia during summer when they have heat waves, storms and bush fires

3. Most importantly don’t come to Tassie during winter – unless you want to freeze, get wet and blown away, and I don’t mean by the natural beauty of the place.

Stay safe, miss you all and the next post hopefully more exciting in a touristy way!!!
