Hangin ten at Bells Beach

Well someone was hangin ten – definitely not Peter or I. We drove down the remainder of the Ocean Road yesterday, stopping at Lorne, where I did have a swim (water was bloody cold), and calling in at the famous Bells Beach – where the water was even colder. I only dipped my foot in the sea, the swells looked a bit out of my league for a swim.

During the trip from Apollo Bay to Toruqay we stooped a few times and let Bessy have a run on the beach – the dog does love to run and swim. Also stooped to see “the pole house”, not a place I would like to stay with my fear of heights.

My photo is pretty crap, but if you want to see some really great ones – https://www.google.com.au/search?q=pole+house+great+ocean+road&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=AD0ZU_naOYixqgGHkoGYAw&sqi=2&ved=0CEcQsAQ&biw=1204&bih=533

Decided to drive through the Otway National Park on the way back. The drive through the ranges was quite steep but well worth the effort. Check out the link parkweb.vic.gov.au/explore/parks/great-otwaynationalpark

Today we headed for Geelong with the van in tow and will be going on to Melbourne tomorrow to catch the Ferry across to Tassy. Will send the next post once we get over there.
