Well after 3 days of non-stop travel we arrived safely in Brisbane just in time for the afternoon traffic. The trip was pretty boring and we did not stop to do any sightseeing along the way. Bessy probably fared the best as all she had to do was sleep and have toilet breaks!
We have been staying with friends Doug and Julie, doing a bit of drinking and just generally catching up.
This morning we went to the airport and meet our Canadian in-laws for the first time – so nice to finally meet Robyn’s parents and younger brother. With a bit of luck we will all be able to do a spot of fishing and crabbing next week in Mackay. I am feeling the heat back in QLD after being in SA, so I hope Lyn, John and Jeff don’t suffer to much – I think they have come from -11 to 28 in Brisbane.
Not much in the way of pics, although Bessy did find a new friend her own size when we stopped at Wilcannia for the night. I am not sure if it was the best idea to drive but at least we will have a car in Mackay.
Did I mention that Peter hit the gate taking the van into storage – ah well, that is why you have insurance. So glad I did not do it!
Needless to say Bessy wanted to stay
