After leaving Berri we headed towards Adelaide through the middle of the Riverland country. Stopped for a night at Swan Reach and two nights at Murray Bridge before going to the big smoke.

Swan Reach
Murray Bridge is the largest town in SA on the River and from what we have seen has the oddest weather. One night we needed the AC on and the next it was 5 degrees, although I think I may have found my new house on the River!
After leaving Murray Bridge we took off on a leisurely 1 1/2 hour drive to on next stop at Belair National Park in Adelaide – well it would have been leisurely if I had not missed the turn off and then taken us over some of the steepest winding road I am sure Adelaide has to offer (and towing a van). Peter was not amused, but we arrived safely and this is a lovely spot on the edge of the National Park and very central to the city and Adelaide Hills.
After setting up we went for a drive to were the car/van is booked for storage and picked up a crate for Bessy’s flight home.
Today we visited the National Park and were quite impressed – you can even take a dog on a leash. Over the next week we will be seeing the “Hills” and checking out the sites.
A very small part of Belair National Park
Flying to Brisbane on the 11th December and then on to Mackay on the 16th for about 5 weeks to catch up with everyone and maybe even do some work!
