I have been dumped for a new “friend” – Gidgea

Currently staying at Cloncurry for a few days after leaving Winton. Stayed at Long Water Hole 2km south of Winton for the last three days. A lovely spot and I am sure it would be even nicer after a bit of rain. Mind you – I don’t thing you would get in or out if it rained too much.

Visited the Age of dinosaurs Museum – very interesting place and some great fossils. Spent an afternoon driving through Bladensburg National Park. Very stark landscape with plains, deep water holes and jump-ups. We visited the old Bladensburg Homestead that is now park of the park and no longer in use. We explored the old homestead and wool shed, drove around the National Park all afternoon and only spotted two other cars.

Its starting to feel like the outback now, and the Van is starting to feel like home, a small home, but home non the less. Not sure what there is to see and do in Cloncurry, but a few days in a van park will give us a chance to charge ourselves up as well as all the “batteries”. This is our first stay in an actual caravan park, which means it’s the first time we have had to pay for the privilege of power and showers!
